What is CBD?

We’ll start by saying that CBD is not illegal, contains no THC and doesn’t have any of those funky psychotropic characteristics. In short, it’s not addictive, it won’t make you feel “high”, give you munchies or cause intoxicating and sometimes overwhelming effects that THC can. In fact, it’s known to do the opposite of THC by helping to reduce anxiety and disordered thinking. It’s been around since 1940 when it was discovered (though back then it wasn’t known to be pharmaceutically active).

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It’s simply a natural ingredient extracted from hemp and cannabis plants. While there are loads of cannabinoid compounds found in these plant species, CBD is known to have the widest range of healing properties. It’s extracted from buds and flowers of hemp or cannabis plants. Then, it’s turned into an oil (usually mixed with a carrier oil, like ours is) which can then be taken in various ways.
